Throughout the duration of Silvering at PS122 Gallery, attendees were involved to write down words or phrases that they had seen, known, or felt, and place them into a performative object. At the closing reception on May 21st, 2023, 62 total submissions were removed from the object and taped onto the wall. Participants voted for their favorite anonymous submissions by placing a sticker on them. The collective favorites were discussed and voted on until one submission was selected: “would you look at that.” I created a stencil of the phrase exactly as it was written and tattooed it onto my leg in front of the participants.
